Our Salkantay Trek itinerary was created with a slight difference from the traditional Salkantay trek, with the purpose to have a unique, unforgettable, and authentic experience, without missing the most important attractions, visiting the Humantay lagoon, organic coffee farm, the thermal baths of Cocalmayo (Santa Teresa), the Inca Trail Llactapata and Machupicchu. We wake up at about 4:30 am to go from Cusco to Mollepata Village and then to Soraypampa (3200 mts) the trailhead, this trip is in our private car for about 3 hours. We will arrive to Mollepata around 7:30 am; we have to stop for 30 minutes to have breakfast in local restaurant if the group wants (not included) or to buy some last minute supplies. Then we are continuing our trip uphill for 1 hour more until arrive to Soraypampoa the Salkantay trek trailhead, where we meet the muleteers and trekking staff (Cook and Assistants). We commence an optional trekKing with a gradual climb for about one hour until Huamtay Lake, it is an amazing lake in the mountains and then we descend back to Soraypampa for the lunch and free time. Then we will continue climbing one and a half hours to Suyrucocha camp (4,480 masl).
After an early breakfast, we start the salkantay trek with a moderate climb from approximately one and half hours to reach the Salkantay Pass at 4,630 masl. From this point we can appreciate the second highest peak, Salkantay (6,264 masl), the Humantay, and the Huayanay snowcapped mountains. From here, we continue two hours downhill until Wayracmachay to lunch, and then we continue until Colpapampa campsite 2840 masl for another 3 hours.
After a delicious breakfast, we will begin the walk by the Salkantay Trek that will be of 5 hours until the place of lunch called La Playa to 2400 meters. Along the way, you will see beautiful waterfalls, rivers, incredible flora and fauna, with a microclimate called tropical forest where people grew coffee, passion fruit, papayas, oranges and avocados. After lunch, we will continue by local van to the town of Santa Teresa and the thermal waters of Colcalmayo, where you will have time to enjoy in the pools. Then we will continue in the same van to the camp of Llucmabmaba where we will have the happy hour with tea, coffee, popcorn and a delicious dinner.
We start the day early with breakfast around 6:00 am to begin the Salkantay trek for 3 hours to the restored ruins of Llactapata (2,860 m), from where you can see Machu Picchu and the last views of the mountain Salkantay, here our tour guide explains the function, importance and etc. After that, we started descending for approximately 3 hours to the Hydroelectric Plant for lunch; then we will continue for another 3 hours until Aguas Calientes where we have a tourist hotel and the dinner at a local restaurant for this last night.
Note: If the group does not want walk more, today we will take the traditional trail directly to Hydroelectric without Llactapata.
Traditional Trail: Start the day around 8:00 am with the breakfast and then a 3-hour hike to the Hidroeléctrica, where we have the lunch and then continue for another 3 hours to the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town) where we will have a tourist hotel and the dinner at a local restaurant.
An early wake up to go the bus station to catch the first bus to Machu Picchu, We travel for around 30 minutes until Machu Picchu entrance, here the guide introduce you to one of the 7 new wonders, and you will see the sunrise over this enigmatic city if the weather conditions is well. Next, we are going to explore the most important sectors of the park for around 2 hours always together with your guide. After that, you are free to explore more for your own, or maybe climb to Huayna Picchu Mountain (if you have a permit) or go to the Inca Bridge, or visit the sun gate. Afterwards you have back to Aguas Calientes at around 13pm to eat something before go to the train station, our train depart at around 14:30 or 18:20 pm, to Ollantaytambo town and then transfer to Cusco city by van.

• Swimsuit for swim in thermal baths.
• Water bottle (no need to bring water pills).

• Some plastic bags in the rainy season.

For those using an ISIC card to receive the discount, we do need to see a copy of the card at booking. This is a 2 star hotel and is based on shared rooms - either double, matrimonial or triple. If you prefer a single room you have to add $30 US per person. All the rooms include private bathrooms with hot showers and wifi. We can also upgrade your hotel if you prefer something a little fancier or we can do the tour without hotel, if you prefer to book the hotel for Aguas Calientes for your own. Please remember that the service you receive in Aguas Calientes will not be quite as good as Cusco.

You have to pay the first deposit required according each tour to guarantee your journey, this can be made by one of our Payment Methods . After to complete the payment write us to our e-mail about that.
The Final Payment: Is due at least with 2 days or 1 day before to depart, normally is due on the briefing time.
Step 5: CONFIRMATION.
Finally, after to obtain your full details and the deposit, our office staff will email you back a tour confirmation to guarantee your journey.
