Day 1: Arrive to Cusco

At the airport our personal wait you to transport to you choose hotel .The rest of the day is free to acclimatized.

Day 2: Archaeological City Tour Cusco

Today in the morning, we do not have any programs activities. At the afternoon at 13th00, we will star the city tour, in this trip we will visit the Cusco cathedral; inside you can see works, that were made with wood and covered with gold, this kind of works were made by Spanish with baroque style. After that, we will continue to the Koricancha temple knowing as Sun Temple, where build over a Santo Domingo church. Then we will leave the city with direction to the four Archaeological Sites like Sacsayhuaman place where people commemorate the Inti Raymi (festival of the sun, the best known party in the country),Qenqo, Pukapucara and Tambomachay (Famous Inca Baths).the finish of the trip is when we are in the hotel around 18th30

Day 3: Sacred valley / Aguas Calientes town.

At 8th00 hours in the morning is the departure to the famous Vilcanota river valley most knowing like Sacred Valley of the Incas. On the way, we will stop in some places to see the beautiful sceneries and mountains. We visit an archeological site called Pisac, that has a biggest Inca terraces that people used in agriculture and we will visit the traditional market where you have free time to walk and interactive with native people of the place or you can buy some gifts that were made by hand made.
We continue until Urubamba town to have our lunch that is buffet in a local restaurant after this we will visit Ollantaytambo Inca town that has a spectacular water channels inside the street and this town has street made by stone with Inca characteristic. Finally, on the way back to Cusco we stop in Chinchero town, where we visit the archeological site and the beautiful colonial church. You will admire the well-preserved Inca wall in the main square.

Day 4: Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa (Salkantay Trail).

We are going to pick up early from the hotel; our transport will be passing by the hotel at around 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 am to go to the traditional village of Mollepata (2950 m) where we have the breakfast. Since Mollepata we are going to continue our trip to Challacancha, Where we start the Salkantay Trek to Soraypampa Camp site. On this place we will have our lunch and our overnight. After the lunch, we are trekking to a beautiful lake and snow mountain called Humantay where we can see incredible landscapes, this trekking depends of the weather.

Day 5: Soraypampa - Salkantay mountain - Chaullay (Salkantay Trail).

After breakfast, we will start our Salkantay Trek ascending to Salkantay pass, just above 4630 meters, of this point we can see the glaciers of Salkantay and another mountains, if we are lucky We can see probably snow slide. after this we are going to descend to Huayracmachaysite where we have our lunch with short break, then we are trekking to Chaullay (2920 m.s.n.m) for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Chaullay – La playa – Santa Teresa (Salkantay Trail).

Our Salkantay trek activity will begin at 6:00 am, this day we are going to walk for 7 hours approximately to arrive to Playa, On the trail we will see waterfalls, fruit trees, a flora variety, the coca plantations, varieties of orchids and birds, if were lucky well see the famous cock rock. we are going to have lunch in la Playa site. Then we are going to take a car from Playa to Santa Teresa camp site. When we arrive to Santa Teresa, where we can go to hot springs to enjoy it.

Day 7: Santa Teresa - Inca Trail Llactapata – Aguas Calientes (Salkantay Trail).

After breakfast, today we will begin the final stretch of the salkantay trek. at around 6:00am We will take a local transportation to Lucmabamba (40 minutes ride) where we start our Trekking to Llactapata archeological site .On the way we will see coffee plantations, beautiful landscapes as well as diverse flora and fauna. After three hours walking, we will arrive to Llactapata where we can see an amazing view of Machu Picchu Inca citadel. Here you will have time to rest and enjoy the scenery. After this activity, we start to descend to Hydroelectric where we have our lunch. Finally, we will start the last part of the trek approximately 3 hours to Aguas Calientes Town, when we arrive to the town, will be accommodated in the hotel (included on this package). At night, we will enjoy a dinner at a local restaurant around 7:30p.m approximately.
Note: available only from April to October. Not available from November to April.

This day we will be flexible, if you do not want to hike more, we will catch the traditional route to Aguas Calientes who is easier than Llactapata.


Traditional Route: Aproximately around 8:30 am, we will trek to Hidroelectrica site to our last lunch and from here, we can observe the back of Machu Picchu sanctuary. From here, we will continue walking until arrive to Aguas Calientes village around 4:30pm; here we will spend the night in a touristic hotel included in the program. At night, we will enjoy a dinner at a local restaurant around 6:30p.m approximately.

Day 8: Aguas Calientes - Machu picchu - Cusco (Salkantay Trail)

Today to have a perfect visit to Machu Picchu, we have to leave early (5am approximately), we will have breakfast at the hotel and then we take the bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu (2400 m). At the archeological site, we will enjoy a guided tour of the most interesting sections of this site. We will see the Intihuatana, the temple of the three windows, temple of the moon, the terraces, ceremonial fountains, the gateway of the sun, and other sectors of this impressive site. In the afternoon, a bus wait us to take us back down to Aguas Calientes, at night we will board the train to Ollantaytambo, In Ollantaytambo our staff wait you to come back to the hotel of Cusco.

Day 9: Departure from Cusco.

Transfer from hotel to airport in a Schedule that we will coordinate.

  • ENTRANCE TIKET:In our tours, the entrance to the archaeological site of MachuPicchu is included.
  • BRIEFING: Two or one night before your expeditions, we are going to your hotel or you will come to our office for your briefing, it is an information session for the tril to be ready to 100% for the trek day.
  • PROFESSIONAL GUIDES: All our guides studied English and Tourism at the University, institutes, and have many months giving support to the trekkers before to start to work in this kind of adventures like a guide.
  • HOTEL:The activity include 4 nights of hotel in Cusco, 3 nights in tents and 1 night hotel in Aguas Calientes village. We include a 3 star Basic hotel with shared rooms (Double, Marital and Triple rooms). If you would like to upgrade your hotel level or prefer a single room, there will be an additional cost.
  • TRANSPORTATION:The transport for the Cultural Tours are a big buses, the transportations during the trek are included, we will pick you up from your hotel at around 6 AM and carried to the trailhead (day 3). during the trail are included the transport from La Palta to Santa Teresa and Hotsprings, from Santa Teresa to Llucmabamba, a bus ticket form Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, your expedition train ticket, the transport from ollantaytambo to Cusco and is included the inn-out transportation (airport-hotel-airport).
  • TRAIN: The last day of the tour, we will board the 18:25PM train from Aguas Calientes village to Ollantaytambo village. From where we transfer you to Cusco city in our car.
  • STORAGE DURING THE TREK: In the moment of the pre-departure briefing, we will provide you a small duffle bag to pack your things for the trail, this bag will carried by the horses with no option to get anything until the campsite. You should therefore bring a daypack in which you can carry your personal belongings such as camera, water and sunscreen, etc.The other part of your things that are not necessary for the trail, you can leave at hotel store or you can leave it with us until come back of the tour.
  • HORSES AND SUPPORT STAFF: We include horses and horsemen who is responsible for carrying your duffel (7 kg of bag) with your personal items. There is no additional fee for this. We will give you your duffel bag at your briefing session and this should be filled with the things you will need on your adventure, but not during the actual hiking time.During the trek you have to bring your own daypack with the essential things, because you will have access to your duffel bag only at your evening campsite.
  • EQUIPMENT: Do Adventures Peru has the best equipment. We use Kaylas tents with capacity for 4 person, but we put only 2 people. This allows some room to spread out and keep your duffels safely with you.
  • FOOD & CHEFS: Many of our customers comments about the wonders of our chefs. They make magic happen on the trail in a small tent over a single flame. The food is served family style, there will be plenty of options for everyone, and always food left over. If you are vegetarian, it is not problem for us, just tell us and you will have vegetarian food. Each day will consist of breakfast, lunch, happy hour with tea and snacks and dinner. Your last meal will be breakfast of the last day. Lunch the last day is not included.
  • WATER: We will supply all the water you need for your trek. This water will be boiled, filtered and then cooled down before distributing. You must supply your own water bottles or camelback and we recommend carrying about 3L. We will refill just each moorning and encourage you to drink as much as possible as you hike. Hydration is key to feeling great in the mountains, just in each breakfast, for another hand in each camping places have local villagers who sell bottles of mineral water, if you prefer you can buy as a way collaborate to obtain income. the prices are different according how far we are.
  • FIRST AID: Your safety is our number 1 concern. All our guides are trained to provide support in these causes. They all will have first aid kits and full oxygen bottle in case anything happens. We will get you off the trail as quickly and comfortably as possible, if needed and will make sure you get directly to a clinic for treatment. This is not something to worry about - but if something happens, we will be there for you.Note: before to do the trek or any type of adventure tour, we recommend you to visit your doctor and explain about the activity that will do, and please try to bring a small first aid bag each according to your conditions to stay peaceful.
  • ENTRANCE TICKETS CUSCO: Many of the sites in Cusco and the Sacred Valley accept the Boleto Turistico (Tourist Ticket), which is a bit costly, but grants access to many of our areas highlights. Included in this tour are the 4 inca ruins you visit on the city limits. The ticket can be purchased as a one (1) day pass for 70 PEN or a ten (10) day pass for 130PEN. A valid ISIC card does offer a discount on the 10 day pass for 70 PEN. Only soles are accepted and it must be paid in cash. You will be able to purchase this directly at the first site. The cathedral and Temple of the Sun are separate entrance tickets and are 25 PEN and 15 PEN respectively.
  • RENTALS: Every trekker needs a sleeping bag when you choose a trek with camping. Inflatable air matts are optional, but do help in getting a good night sleep. Walking sticks are definitely encouraged and must have a rubber tip when bringing your own. If you do not have or want to bring any of the above, they are all available for rent:
  • HUAYNAPICCHU: Huaynapicchu is the mountain located inside the Machu Picchu Park and has beautiful views from the top. It takes 45 minutes to get to the top and then 45 minutes back down and is quite steep for those scared of heights. This is done after your tour of Machu Picchu and is $20 per person to hike. This is extremely popular and needs to be arranged at least a month or two prior to your trek. Please understand that we can not control weather and cloudy days will prevent perfect pictures.
